Marilyn Friend, PhD, past president of CEC and professor emeritus at UNC, is the foremost authority on co-teaching, having authored several best-selling publications, as well as co-authored three of the most widely used college textbooks on special education.
(Grades K-12)The purpose of this workshop is to provide an overview of co-teaching as well as detailed information about effectively planning, implementing, and evaluating co-teaching programs. Participants will have the opportunity to explore both the conceptual and the operational aspects of this innovative approach to providing an education to students in the least restrictive environment, as well as discuss issues and concerns related to their own practices. The goal is to ensure that participants take their practice to the next level, designing instruction that fully utilizes the contributions of each professional so that all students reach their full potential.
